For my undergraduate final major project, I chose to redesign walking aids. Moving away from the stigmatised and boxy frames, the asymmetric design is unique and opens up more space around the user. Parts such as the joints and collars create a functioning mechanism while also adding a decorative element. The walking aid has a natural aesthetic, using bone marrow shaping throughout the frame. The seat height adjusts independently to the handle height so the user can have a lower seat to sit at a picnic bench with the family or a high level to perch on for a short rest on a walk. The height adjusting keys have handles that curve out to help those with limited dexterity in their hands.
